When should you book your honeymoon? YESTERDAY! Oh my gosh, you haven’t booked it yet? What were you thinking? You’re so far behind!!!
Juuuust kidding, calm down. Generally speaking, it’s a good idea to book flights and hotels earlier rather than later, but you certainly don’t need to have your entire trip planned out more than six months in advance.**
So why is it important to book early?
1) You’ll save money. Pretty good reason, right?
2) You’re more likely to get your first choices on airfare, hotels, fancy restaurants, etc.
3) You’re less likely to scrimp on your honeymoon if you don’t wait until the last minute. When you’re hemorrhaging money on wedding stuff, it can be hard to simultaneously book an expensive vacation. Everyone is different, of course, but if you want to go big on your honeymoon, I highly recommend booking it before you get the final bill from your venue… and your photographer… and your caterer… and your dress tailor… and your hair and make-up artists… etc.
4) Peace of mind. What bride doesn’t want that?

**I think we booked our honeymoon about two months before our wedding, and the delay was entirely due to the fact that we couldn’t even decide where to go. But once we decided on Bali and Vietnam, we quickly got down to business and locked in our airfare and hotels.
